During the Edo Period, Chorakuji Temple and nearby famous spots were established as the Thirteen Sites of Obasute.
They include the Obaishi Rock on the temple grounds, a giant katsura tree, Takaragaike Pond, Kumoi Bridge, Meishi Rock, Sarashina River, Mt. Kamuriki, Mt. Kyodai, Mt. Hitoe, and the Chikuma River. (The list varies by source.)
