Moon-Related Worship
Takemizuwake Shrine’s Chushusai (Autumnal Equinox Festival) is held annually on the harvest moon nearest the 14th of September.
Under the full moon, a lion dance is performed and fireworks lit off as part of the festivities.
Chushusai is known locally as “Ton-Ton” from the sound of the fireworks.
