Obasute Terraced Rice Fields
Sarashina River starts from the Benzaiten Spring and is fed by water from the Oike reservoir.
It brings water close to the Obasute rice terraces from where it is delivered to the various rice paddies through a series of irrigation channels.
Today the Western Area Land Improvement District controls the flow of water using the channels that were built back in the Edo Period.
